A True Agency Partner

Tim Zinser may very well be SIS’ best salesman. And, he’s not even an employee. Rather, he is the owner of the Tim Zinser Insurance Agency, LLC, in Cincinnati, Ohio – an agency he opened in 1973 after taking over his father’s company that had been in existence since 1949.

Tim was just 18 when he first got into the insurance industry – one he’s passionate about. "I love this job," said Tim. "It’s an exciting business, and I’ll do it as long as I can." And, at age 59, he has no plans of retiring soon. "As long as I have Partner, I’ll do this another 15 years or so," he said.

When Tim first considered purchasing an agency management system, he did his homework. He spent three days visiting other agents to test their management systems. He felt hands-on experience was the best way to determine the best system. When he got to Cooper Insurance in Blue Ash, his search was over.

"When I tested Partner, it was a clear choice," Tim explained. "Some of the other systems I tried were costly and did not deliver the same functionality as Partner. You had to open too many different screens in too many formats."

Tim has been using Partner for nine years now, and he has seen the improvement over the years. "I’m able to do 99% of my work on Partner. It records every small detail, even the personal ones that are too often overlooked these days. This helps with cross-selling. I’m not a pushy salesman, and Partner helps me with the soft-sale."

Automation is among the industry improvements that Tim has witnessed during his career in insurance. "I try to tell all the insurance carriers I work with to get automated. Automation frees up an agent’s time so that they can really do the job better, and it makes sure that information is completed and stored correctly – no details are lost."

Tim’s six employees also appreciate Partner. In fact, one employee of Tim’s who he hired with no background in insurance learned Partner in one day. Since then she has told Tim she’d quit if he ever took Partner away.

Tim agrees, and he has become an outspoken advocate of Partner. He encourages other agents to call SIS to learn more about it and even invites them to his agency to test it.

"Partner is just a dynamic system," Tim said, "I feel good about sharing it with others because I trust SIS. It is a service-oriented company, which is so important and too often overlooked in today’s business world."
