Answer |
|
When Partner XE is available for all, must it be
taken or can we continue to run on our current (Partner 6.2)
platform, and does it have to be hosted by SIS?
|
When Partner XE is released, you will have the
option of continuing to use Partner 6.2 for some time – as long as it
makes sense for SIS to support both systems.
With respect to SIS
hosting, it is an optional service that we will provide with Partner XE.
Unlike other hosting services, SIS will only host the Partner XE system
and not the other peripheral applications like email. The agency has the
option to not host with SIS, meaning they can either install the
application locally or host with an independent hosting vendor. |
|
Will you furnish all software with Partner XE, which
would include SQL Server? If SQL is not furnished, what are the costs
for agents to purchase it? |
SIS will not be providing Microsoft SQL if the
hosting option is not chosen.
Microsoft provides a free,
slimmed down version of SQL called MSDE (Microsoft SQL Data Engine),
which can be used if the agency has five or fewer users. If the agency
has more than five users, it is recommended that the agency purchase
Microsoft SQL. Please contact Microsoft (www.microsoft.com) for product
pricing.
