Application Developer
Reports To: Manager/Supervisor/Team Lead
Exempt/Non Exempt: Exempt
General Summary
Under general supervision, develop and modify moderately complex application programs from detailed specifications. Analyzes, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those programs. Competent to work on most phases of application development activities, but requires instruction and guidance in phases.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analyze, design, develop and test code according to specifications.
2. Resolve system problems; identify root causes to prevent future occurrences.
3. Work as a productive team member with various business departments and other IT members.
4. Work effectively with multiple assignments and meet completion dates.
5. Be available 24×7 for on-call/off hours support.
Qualifications/Minimum Experience/Education
A college degree (2 or 4 year) or at least 2 years of relevant experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility in software development.
Communication and Collaboration Skills:
Written and oral communication skills required. Examples around audience levels, internal vs. external and forms of communication, such as, interviewing, presentations, teams, persuasion)
Written: Good writing skills to produce documents for both technical and non-technical audiences are required.
Oral: Must be able to verbally communicate clearly with any audience. This includes both understanding the audience and being understood by the audience.
Technical Knowledge: Must possess basic computer programming skills such as analysis, design, coding, debugging and testing. Must keep technical skills current as appropriate to position.
Specific Technologies – must be fluent (2-4 years) in and able to demonstrate through experience

Problem Solving: This position will require the individual to be able to understand the direction given and perform the steps necessary to complete the tasks. The individual must be able to identify opportunities while researching potential solutions.
